Maurice first discovered dance when he was 15 years old and he has been hooked ever since. In 2005 Maurice did his first major line dance competition at Worlds-Held in Nashville,TN where he placed 5th in two categories. Soon after that he wanted to spread his knowledge to others through teaching. He has traveled the world teaching at various dance workshops. Along the way he was featured in 3 issues of Line dancer magazine and received line dancer of the year award.
Soon after he was offered a home base place to teach here in Tampa,Fl at The Round Up. Along the way his dance journey he started teaching ballroom as well, and has since been teaching ballroom for 6 years now expanding his dancing techniques to others willing to learn. Although his first passion will always be line dancer he loves all dancing styles. It’s nice sharing the love of dance with all levels of dancers. Watching his students grow is a great experience. Dance has opened a lot of doors for him. He is excited to see what dance has lined up for him in the future.
He looks forward to teaching every Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7pm to 9pm and is always searching for the newest and most updated songs and choreography. Whether you are a greenhorn (beginner) or the advance dancer, Maurice is sure to show each move at your level and work one on one with you till you pick up the steps.
Come on out and join us for a boot scootin good time with Maurice during our line dance lessons.
